SPEC: INTO THE NIGHT (RPG) Part 8, Posts 111-Conclusion POST No 111/Lestat I looked at the girl, no I could not make her one of us. I reached over towards her, intending to close her eyes one last time, I did not know that I was still bleeding from my fight with Armand, I must have cut myself when I had fallen on the ground. And strange, it had taken longer than normal to heal. So when I reached over her with my fingers outstretched towards her eyes, a single drop of blood fell from my wrist into her mouth. Oh the sheer determination of this child to live was amazing, all it too was one drop of my blood to give her enough strenth to grab my hand, and draw her lips up to my wrist. She began to drink, and oh how she did drink, the sheer force of her thirst drove me into ecstasy. But it was more than I had ever felt more than all of the fledgings I had made before, was it because I had not drained her before, I do not know. But as she drank, the pleasure coursed through me, giving flight to to my pleasure. When I next looked we were flying high above the city, her craddled in my one arm, my other to her mouth. I started to feel faint, I drew my wrist away from her, but she wanted more. No, enough. As we flew over the red light district, I saw on the ground a rape taking place, with one thought, I flew straight down, grabed the evil vile creature off of his victim. With her in one arm and the rapist in the other I headed back to my flat. As I was returning I looked down at my new child, she had already started feeding, she trembled in my arms from sheer pleasure. Well it was strangest creation, the maker not drinking from the fledging, the fledging feeding before the death. Oh what would my family say to this, well the time was near for I could see my bedroom window from here. Oh what would they say.......... POST No 112/Gabrielle Gabrielle was lying on the earth with Pandora over her body, she was still drinking from her. Not even Pandora's powerful blood was able to make Gabrielle stood all the sucking. Gabrielle was feeling a bit weak, she pushed her love softly. "Pan..." she whispered. "What's up dear?" she got down from Gabrielle, fixing her clothes the way them should be and giving Gabrielle her top, that she had thrown away. "Enough for the moment love." Pandora looked at Gabrielle's blank expression. "Oh Gabby, sorry, I should have left you drink more, but you know, I love your taste...you look death, drink a little." Pandora put in Gabrielle's lip her wrist that was still bleeding. The blonde vampire couldn't restrain herself, Pandora's blood was the most magical, hypnotic, and she really needed the blood, she drank for a while, then let her hand go when she felt stronger. Pandora stood up, Gabrielle sat in there, she put on her top and then stood. "What now?" Gabrielle asked. "Whatever you want." Pandora held Gabrielle's slender body, then she put her arm around her waist and they began walking out of the cemetery. "You know, I hate cemeteries." "I rather like them, as I told you, the death guys must be grateful of the fun we had given them." "I still think this was not the best of places, but what the hell. I wonder where the others are..." "Let's see..." Pandora began scanning, until she found a very *very* interesting scene of Armand and Daniel "Oh good lord!" "What?" Gabrielle took the picture at once "Ooohhhhh...that's it, go Armand, go!!" "Let them alone!" Pandora shot themselves out of the Rue Royale. 'So you finally find someone to play with you Daniel.' Gabrielle thought remembering her own chance of that. Chance of what?: she suddenly felt a greek presence in her mind. "Get the hell out of my thoughts Pan! You know that already..." "Yeah, but I wonder if Armand knows..." "You are not planning to tell him, now are you?" "No, when I'm in love I'm happy and I want everyone to be happy." she kissed Gabrielle's lips slowly "You know what I'm thinking about? I want to travel. I guess that with you by my side I'm going to have to go to the jungles from time to time, well I guess most of the tie, all for love! But to rest of that we can go to civilized places. I want to visit first of all Moscow, it had been a long time since the last time I..." Pandora stopped suddenly when she saw Gabrielle's absent expression "Hey!" she shaked her body a little "I'm feeling ignored here." "Oh, sorry. I was thinking of that strange guy, Monsieur Highlander." "Who?" "The inmortal, remember him? Myst, if I'm not wrong." Pandora felt a knife across her heart when she heard that familiar name. "You are not wrong Gabrielle, Myst." she said with a sad smile. "Wait..." Gabrielle whispered taking Pandora's chin in her hand "Something wrong?" Pandora looked to another place, not wanting to confront the saphire eyes "Pandora!" Gabrielle broke from Pandora's arm "If we are going to have something here we must begin with the right foot. There can't be unsaid thing between us. I love you, and I want to trust in you, and I also want the same from you!" "OK, Gabby, you are right." Pandora put her arm around her waist again "You want to know it all? I'll tell you, and then we are going to have a good talk I guess. Your inmortal Myst...he is my father love." "WHAT?!!!!" Gabrielle asked in bloody surprise looking in the serene face of the older vampire and waiting for her to continue with all what she had to say. POST No 113/Pandora Pandora couldn't help but laugh at the shocked expression on her lover's face. "WHAT?!?" screeched Gabrielle. "Your father???" "Yes," said Pandora absently, turning away. "Why didn't you tell me before Pan, I thought we didn't keep secrets." Pandora turned to look at Gabrielle, and saw Gabrielle's face masked her own, great pain. "Look Gab, it wasn't that important. I thought he might have finally have died or something. Besides, I haven't spoken to him for well over three hundred years, why start now?" Gabrielle trying hard to understand all this. "But why? what happened between you two?" Pandora's eyes brimmed with tears. "It really is too painfull to tel, even now." Gabrielle put her arm reassuringly around Pandora's shoulders. "Come on Pan, I'm here for you. Maybe if you talk about it you might feel better. Please?" Pandora looked deep into Gabrielle's eyes, and saw the love there. "Ok Gabrielle. Sit down, Ill tell you. It all started when..." Suddenly her head jerked up. "He's here, with others......" POST No 114/Marius Marius was standing there, eyes fixed on Myst. Although he had successfully blocked Myst from reading his mind, he was still able to read Myst's. He smiled as he remembered the time they had collapsed together in a drunken heap, but all these memories of Pandora were foreign to him. "I am not here to punish you because Pandora left me, foolish man, because, unlike you, I know that Pandora will return to me. She is my daughter now, and I have been her father for hundreds of years, thousands in fact. I am the father you never were, and never could be. You're right, one wrong move from you, and you could lose her forever, again. Why can't you let her be? She is finally happy, and had managed to completely forget about your last visit, now you come back here and torture her again. Don't you see? Your very presence upsets the young girl. Why have you come back? Why?" POST No 115/Myst Damn, he had gotten good at shielding his mind from me, but what he said about my leaving her alone, my Pandora, to get on with her life was in truth what I had in mind. It was only when Marius was called in that I felt I had to do something. Now that she is happy, I might as well leave her to her new found love. Persides I have a millenium of new memories tho explore. "Come my friend, it is time we saw the girls." "Myst I hope you are not up to your old tricks again." "Relax and trust me dude." "Pandora, may I talk with you alone." "Whatever you have to say to me, you can say in front of the others." "Very well, then. I did not intend to intrude in your life, I was quite happy in my ignorance. But seeing as I am regaining my memory I have discovered parts of my old life that I am quite frankly disgusted with. I am going on a type of pilgrimage to refind myself. I believe you are happy and if you need me you know I will find you. I wish you happiness and love." With these words I turned and headed out the doors, I do not know what is ahead of me, but I do know that it will be a lifetime of adventure ............... POST No 116/Gabrielle (last post) One moment she had been with Pandora walking in her arms, talking of their future plans, and then in a second she shot Myst was her father, and to end the picture Myst and Marius came and Myst declared he loved Pan, he regretted some things Gabrielle would never no and then he left for his 'pilgrimage', man, this was a hell of an strange guy, but Gabrielle was concerned about Pandora now, of course she was happy of Myst's leaving, all had gone insane since he showed up, good it was all over. She turned to Pandora, she was ghastly looking from her to Marius. "Pan, beloved, are you OK?" she asked softly, caressing her shoulders. "Pandora," Marius took his good father accent "I know this is hard for you after so much years, but remember you are not alone..." "I know." she answered in an incredible low voice "You know, he always did this, he always left me, but at least this time he came to say good bye." she smiled sadly "I had not seen him in hundreds of years, and when he shows up he talks to every single member of the coven but me, or at least he talked to me, like now, and leaves without me having a chance to say anything..." Pandora's eyes began to fill with blood tears. "Pandora..." Gabrielle didn't know how to react, Pandora turned slowly to her, Gabrielle caressed her cheek, and then Pandora broke into tears, hiding her face in her neck. "Pandora!" Marius put both his hands in her back "Calm down my child, you had done great for a long time without him, just...forget." "Oh Marius, I will." she sobbed getting straight again "I will... at least this time h said he will be in touch if I need him, though we all know that's not true, when someone goes into his own life, he can make promises to the beloved ones he leaves, but I'm sure he won't show up 'till a thousand of years, but I don't want him either. Life goes on. Maybe in one faraway day we'll be friends or whatever, but for now, I don't want to think about him. I have people in my life like you both," she kissed deeply Gabrielle's lips "and the only father I had ever needed is here by my side." While Pandora gave her speech Gabrielle had maken the mental note of giving a phone call to Lestat, but know, if Pandora didn't want to think about Myst, then what the hell! There were a lot of another things to think about. "So guys," she held herself between Marius and Pandora, just to be sure, "What are we up to now?" "Well..." Pandora smiled brightly "I still have the Moscow thing in mind." "Then we're going to Moscow. That would be like our honey moon!" "Oh God," Marius blushed "I believe this is not my place..." "C'mon Marius!" his fledging gave him a squeeze "We have things to talk about, we don't want you in our bedroom, but we could use you as a waiter!" "Pan, I'm not a third wheel, I'm going to the palazzo, really dear, I want to go." "Well, at least let us drive you to there, we'll stay a couple of nights and then to Moscow." Marius looked to Gabrielle. :Do you mind? I guess you want to be alone with her.: :There's enough time for everything Marius. She is still so vulnerable, I want her happy. Can we go?: :You both can always go.: :Right then. But we'll lock the door, you know.: "Hello..." Pandora called them "Remember me?" "Of course Pan," Gabrielle messed into her lover's arms "I was just asking Marius wich was the fastest road to Venice..." POST No 117/Armand (last post) It was night again and Armand stirred in the bed realizing that he had his beloved Daniel still in his arms. He remembered the night before, the love and passion they had shared andsmiled looking at his sleeping lover, so beautiful, so tender and so fiery at the same time! Daniel stirred and opened his eyes to find Armand looking at him with such love he almost began to cry. He smiled at him. "Ready to go home?," asked Armand softly, still holding Daniel in his arms. "Wherever you want to take me beloved," he teased, but then he grew serious. "What is it?," asked Armand concerned. "The girl I fed on last night... she is still alive... she called me last night." "She is Lestat's child now beloved," said Armand caressing Daniel's cheek, "so forget about her." Daniel's eyes went wide. "WHAT!?" Armand looked troubled now. "Was she so important for you beloved?," his voice had a tinge of fear and... jealousy? "No, Armand, please don't misunderstand my love. I was just surprised. Come here." And Daniel gathered Armand in his arms kissing him deeply. "I love you," he said, his voice husky, and then he kissed him again. POST No 118/Daniel (last post) He kissed Armand with all the passion and love that had built up in him for months. All those years together and never had they been this close. Never this intimate. At last it had come to pass. "Are you happy?" Armand asked, looking up at him with those dark eyes. "I am. But you better keep me happy! Who knows when I may get bored!" Daniel said with a lopsided grin. "Bored?!" Armand said, aghast. "With me? You take that back!" Daniel laughed. "I am not joking." Armand said sitting upright and grabbing a pillow. "Take it back....or you shall be attacked by this pillow." He couldn't believe Armand was serious. Or was he? "I will not!" Daniel said playfully and was greeted by a whop to the face with the pillow. "Hey!" He grabbed his own pillow and began to defend himself. Before they were finished they were laughing hysterically, feathers all over the room from the ripped pillows. They hadn't heard the knock at the door. Lestat entered followed by Louis and Melisande! They all looked ateach other, then Daniel and Armand looked at one another, and collapsed into new peals of laughter on the bed. "Well..." Louis said crossing his arms over his chest. "I see I've only missed the normal craziness that always seems to take over when this coven gets together." "Oh, Louis. You don't know the half of it." Lestat said, shaking his head. "I thought you two might like to meet the newest addition to our family. Daniel, you remember Melisande." Daniel quieted himself and grabbed his robe. "Well, now I see what I missed." Melisande said, meeting his gaze evenly. If Daniel had fed yet, he would have blushed. "Melisande, will you forgive me? " he asked. The whole room seemed to fall silent as he awaited her answer. POST No 119/Melisande (last post) Melisande's mind span as we climbed higher and higher together, and all she could really keep her attention on was the flow of blood from his wrist. Her pale grey eyes closed, her long black eyelashes resting on her cheeks. She gripped her maker tightly, her body wracked with sensation and emotion. *Dear God in Heaven, what have I done?* The thought passed through her mind like a soft breeze, in the same moment entering her and leaving her. They dipped down, and Melisande could see where her maker was aiming. A rape...an abominable creature abusing a young woman. Screams like birds rang through the night; in a moment, two voices cried out in shock as the rapist was lifted off the woman and carried off under her maker's other arm. Waves of fury at the man rolled through her. Her eyes grew feral; she looked almost like a wolf as she regarded the rapist slowly. *Hungry. STILL hungry.* More than hungry...ravenous. Ravenous for more vampire's blood, but she would be more than content with the blood of a mortal man... She tore into his throat with no thought of mortality or having been human. All she felt was a consuming passion, a need, a hunger. Her teeth were turning sharper as her hunger did the same...and it was slaked as th man's hot, frightened blood rushed into her. She clutched his shirt, unable to get a grasp on anything else, and drained him, taking long heavy draughts of his blood. She was still feeding when she felt her feet softly touch ground. She was indoors, still attached to the rapist, so close to death now that she felt that she held his very soul. Absolute horror began to strike her as her reason came back to her, swimming through her mind like ocean waves. *Vampire. I'm a vampire. They killed Christine, they killed Holly, they killed my damned SISTER...* She fell to her knees, her face buried in her hands. Dead, all dead, and she had not stopped it, not helped, and now she had become what she had alternately been enthralled with or feared and despised utterly. Lestat's hands gently detatched her from the man's corpse. Dead, now. Gone. What had she become? What would she do now? She knelt on the floor, utterly silent for a moment, in her own world. *What will I do?* In a moment, it was like she saw for the first time, felt for the first time, heard and smelled and tasted and *thought* for the first time. She answered her own question almost immediately after she asked it. *What will I do?* *I will live.* What else could she do? She stood, and as she did so she closed her eyes and concentrated on every movement her body made, the brush of her clothing on her skin, the feeling of each muscle as they worked in concert to stand her tall. She looked at her maker, her grey eyes pale, yet burning in her whitening face. Her voice was soft as velvet, smooth as silk, as she spoke: "I'm ready." It was only seconds later that Louis walked into the room. His face registered immediate surprise at Melisande's...condition. Almost shyly, she smiled and reached out her hand. "My name's Melisande." Thankfully, and to both her and Lestat's surprise, he took it and clasped it in both of his. "I remember you. You thought that you hid yourself so well, but I suppose you know now that we always kne you were here." There was no surprise in her eyes. "I know." We walked together into the bedroom. Lestat had knocked first, in some attempt to be polite, but even I could hear that a simple knock would be insufficient to rouse the inhabitants of the room that lay in front of us. Finally, Lestat opened the door and we stepped in. It's been a while since I've seen such an incredible sight. Two vampires, both of whom I recognized on sight, in advanced stages of undress, were having what can only be described as a pillow war in the middle of a bed. I was definitely surprised. Sure, I didn't figure that they spent all their time smelling clove smoke and looking angstful in coffeeshops, but I'd never really considered any of them the pillow fighting type. They tore themselves away from the heaps of feathers that had once been pillows when they realized they weren't alone. Their next action was to fall back into the mass of ex chickens and burst into more laughter. "Well..." Louis said, crossing his arms over his chest. "I see I've only missed the normal craziness that always seems to take over when this coven gets together." "Oh, Louis, you don't know the half of it," Lestat replied, shaking his head. "I thought you two might like to meet the newest addition to our family. Daniel, you remember Melisande." *Damn right, he'd better remember me.* I thought. At this point, Daniel seemed to consider it a good idea to find something to cover his rather impressive form. He swept a robe over his shoulders and stepped over. I had to say *something*. "Well, now I see what I missed," I said softly, looking directly into his eyes as is my wont most often. I smiled, in a friendly manner, I hoped. He looked more than a little embarassed. An almost shy smile came over his face as he shifted uncomfortably. He looked...troubled as he spoke. "Melisande, will you forgive me?" The question hit me like a ton of bricks. In fact, it hit the whole *room* like a ton of bricks *Forgive. There is a lot to forgive. You're the reason I'm here, almost *all* the reason I'm here. It was a cruel trick of fate that put me in this position...then again, was it all that cruel? What would anyone give to be in the position I'm in now?* I couldn't hate him. Or any of them. I couldn't even try. I met him more than halfway. I walked over to where he stood and looked into his face quietly, almost searchingly. *You killed my sister. You nearly killed me.* I thought. I plucked a feather off his nose. Then I put my arms around him and held him to my chest a moment, closing my eyes and laying my head on his shoulder. "I forgive you." And at that moment, I forgave myself. For my obsession, for the role I had played for years, most of my life up until this very day. For the first time, I was at peace. POST No 120/Pandora (last post) Pandora still couldn't believe it! Last night she had been standing face to face with her father, the one at the heart of all her pain, and now she was snuggled up to Gabrielle in a nice quiet hotel room in Moscow. They hadn't left straight away, of course. They had gone back to Lestat's place, and were surprised to see Louis there, and the mortal, the girl. Lestat had given her the dark gift. At first Pandora was mad at him, fuming in fact, but when she saw the sight that greeted them in the bedroom of Daniel and Armand, and she watched as Melisande forgave Daniel after everything, she knew she was wrong. She turned to Lestat and said "Who knows, you may have done the right thing. After, the world needs more female vampires, don't you agree Gabrielle?" "You're right Pan, let's go!!" With that they had left, but not before they both pinched Louis' backside. "For old times sake!" Now Pandora was as happy as she had ever been. She had Gabrielle, and Marius, but she knew Marius was uncomfortable, and he would not last long, and she was ready to handle that. She sighed contentedly, and Gabrielle stirred from her postion, her head resting on Pandora's chest. Pandora closed her eyes, and for the first time in centuries, her sleep was filled with happy dreams. POST No 121/Marius (last post) The only reason Marius was in Moscow, was because Pandora had wanted him to come, but that was reason enough for him. He would stay until she felt confident enough to be on her own. Marius was prepared to stay longer, but as he crept into the room Pandora shared with Gabrielle, and he saw the two of them asleep, Pandora smiling, he knew it was time to go. He would have kissed Pandora yet he knew it would wake her, so he whispered in a voice so soft mortals could not hear : "Pandora, my love, you are everything to me, a daughter, a lover and a friend. I am proud of you, my dear, and I will always be here for you. Always remember never to give up on yourself. You are a beautiful vampire, and a very strong one, emotionally as well as physically. You have the strength and willpower to go on. All these years you thought I was supporting you, holding you up so to speak. I'll tell you a secret Pandora. It was the other way around. If it hadn't been for you, I may have gone insane many years ago, and met the same fate as Magnus, but you are what keeps me going. I live for you my love, only you. Never forget that." With that Marius closed the door, and hurried home before dawn. Back in the hotel room, Pandora opened her eyes, and a single blood tear ran down her face and stained the bed sheet. POST No 122/Lestat (last post) He had to smile, watching Meli take her first steps as a fledging, her reaction to her new found senses, her reaction to all around her. But it was almost ruined when she realized what she had become, but it must have been all those sad years that had made her so strong, for as this thought came into her mind so she fought back the fear, no he could no longer read her mind, but her face revealed all. At a sound from behind him he turned to see Myst, but no, it was his love Louis. He had returned, and what a homecoming he was getting, Daniel and Armand together, Pandora and Mother together, and now He, Meli and Louis together, the only one left on his own was Myst. What was he up to now?, where was he?, what adventure was he planning? But those thoughts left him at the sound coming from one of the rooms. It was the room used by Armand and his fledging, he turned to his two fledgings the head towards the door....... POST No 123/Myst (last post) "Hot chocolate please." The waitress left with my order, I sat back and looked around the cafe. Oh so much had happened in the last few days. I discovered that I was a lot older than I first thought, I had powers beyond my wildest imagination. But the most amazing of all, I had a daughter, oh how I had kept myself awake at nights wondering if ever I would have a child, and there she was. But the joy I discovered soon turned to pain when I realised what I had done to her, oh the shame and the stupidity of it all... At that moment I vowed never to hurt her again, and to always be there for her, that is why I was having my hot chocolate in a Russian cafe, instead of my usual one. As I sat and drank my elixir of life, I thought about the last day, of how most of my memory had returned, not actually memory as per say, more of my instinct that I had formed of the years. After my rest, I got up and headed back out Into the Night. As had happened last night and probably for many nights to come I found myself outside their Hotel. I closed my eyes and concentrated on her room, she was asleep. Then just before I withdrew I saw the door open and Marius entered. "Pandora, my love, you are everything to me, a daughter, a lover and a friend. I am proud of you, my dear, and I will always be here for you." With these words I new she would never be alone, there would always be someone there for her, be it Marius or Gabbrielle. With this thought I turned and rejoined the passing crowd. I had to smile at these mere mortals, they had no idea what or who lived and moved amongst them every night, these creatures of the night. With a smile I rose into the sky and headed INTO THE NIGHT The End
